Downer EDI
Downer EDI secured a $170 million contract for work on the Gorgon project on Barrow Island. The 12-month contract for the company is for miscellaneous works and includes an option for extension. Handley Surveys was selected to provide laser scanning and SMP surveying services to the project on Barrow Island and International fabrication yards.
Downer Tenix JV
Downer Tenix JV was the contractor for the construction of two 46-metre diameter diesel tanks. Handley Surveys was awarded a sub-contract survey package to provide civil and SMP surveyors to the project to assist with the construction phase. The award draws on Handley Surveys’s experience in the Pilbara region and experience operating with Rio Tinto on major projects.
UGL Resources
UGL was a market leader in the end-to-end engineering, asset management construction and maintenance services. UGL were awarded the contract to complete the West Angelas Power Station (WAPS). Handley Surveys was selected for the project based on their experience with Gas Turbine Generation projects and their ongoing relationship and outstanding performance with UGL Resources on previous projects.
CB&I Clough JV
Exxon Mobil Corporation awarded CB&I Clough Joint Venture a US$1 billion contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the PNG LNG Project gas conditioning plant. CB&I Clough JV selected Handley Surveys to execute civil and structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) works on the project.
UGL Resources
APA Group commissioned UGL Resource to build gas turbine compressor stations at Yarraloola and Paraburdoo sites for their existing infrastructure network expansion. Handley Surveys was awarded the work based on their high level of experience with rotating gas turbines and previous structural, mechanical and piping works.
Cimeco / CB&I
CB&I Constructors awarded Cimeco a $90 million contract for the Australia Pacific LNG project in Gladstone, Queensland. The scope included civil and concrete services associated with the installation of two LNG tanks for the project. Handley Surveys was awarded the contract to provide surveying services to the project.
CB&I Kentz JV
Chevron Australia awarded CB&I Kentz Joint Venture (CKJV) a US$3.2 billion contract to perform structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) electrical, instrumentation and commissioning support for the single largest LNG project undertaken. Handley Surveys was awarded a massive contract to provide all surveying services to the project, a huge milestone for the company.
Bechtel
The Wheatstone LNG project is one of Australia’s largest resource projects. The facility will include three onshore gas processing trains and domestic gas production plant. Handley Surveys was awarded an initial Early Works package by Bechtel to install the primary control network for the project. This package was later increased to supply all audit and additional EPC survey works for the project life.
Streicher-Clough JV
BHP Billiton undertook the US$1.5 billion Macedon wet gas pipeline and sales gas pipeline project in Onslow, awarding the $45 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to Streicher-Clough JV. Handley Surveys was selected to provide surveying services to the project. The scope of work included horizontal directional drilling, construction of multiple pipelines and umbilical installation. Drawing upon a wealth of LNG experience, Handley Surveys ensured that the project was completed ahead of time and on budget.

WOODSIDE/BGC
Woodside Petroleum Ltd awarded the $6 billion Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to Foster Wheeler Worley (FWW) for the onshore LNG liquefaction train and associated storage, offloading and ancillary facilities. The dimensional control and auditing surveying services were awarded to Handley Surveys for both module fabrication yard in Laem Chabang, Thailand and assembly site in Dampier, Western Australia. Handley Surveys ensured full separation of project roles and personnel to alleviate any conflict of interest on the project.
CB&I
Representing an investment of more than $30 billion, the Woodside operated North West Shelf Joint Venture (NWSJV) facilities constitute Australia’s largest oil and gas resource development and currently account for more than one third of Australia’s oil and gas production. CB&I awarded Handley Surveys the Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) surveying services package for the assembly of the fourth LNG liquefaction train.
